TENAFLY, N.J. — Tenafly Democrats Jamie Corsair and Aakash Shah won seats on the Borough Council Tuesday without facing opposition, leaving the town's Board of Education contest as the more competitive local race.

Corsair received 3,259 votes and Shah received 3,224, according to unofficial Bergen County election results.

With no Republican or independent challengers on the council ballot, both Democrats cruised to victory.

The school board contest was a different story.

Four candidates competed for three seats, with David Steven Miller leading the field with 2,382 votes.

Daniel Kim Shin finished second with 2,255 votes, followed by Angela Leone with 2,089.

Kevin Shin fell short with 1,637 votes.

Despite Tenafly's established Jewish community, neither the council nor school board race received an endorsement from the Bergen County Jewish Action Committee (BCJAC).

The results give Tenafly its next three school board members while keeping the borough's two available council seats in Democratic hands.

The results are based on Bergen County's unofficial November 3, 2026 election report, refreshed at 10:21 p.m., and include early voting, Election Day ballots and partial mail-in results.
