ENGLEWOOD, N.J. — Englewood Democrats Lisa Wisotsky and Kevin Wilson won another round at the ballot box Tuesday, securing their City Council seats without facing general election opposition.
Wisotsky, representing Ward 2, received 1,761 votes, while Wilson, representing Ward 4, received 1,750, according to unofficial Bergen County election results.
For Wisotsky, Tuesday's result capped an election year in which her biggest challenge came months earlier.
The physician and former council president defeated Dr. Suzanne Mullings in the June Democratic primary with approximately 80% of the vote, winning 933 to 234.
Wisotsky, a longtime Englewood resident with ties to the city's Orthodox Jewish community, previously served as council president in 2025.
With both council races uncontested, the real competition came in the Board of Education election.
Six candidates sought three seats, with Vernedra Williams leading the field with 3,231 votes.
Rebecca Tenzer finished second with 2,889 votes, followed by Isaac Strulowitz with 2,767.
Miriam Stiefel narrowly missed a seat with 2,651 votes, just 116 behind Strulowitz. Ignacio Acosta-Thompson received 2,514 and William Feinstein received 2,049.
The results were a mixed showing for the Bergen County Jewish Action Committee (BCJAC), which endorsed Tenzer, Strulowitz and Stiefel. Two of its three school board picks won, while Stiefel fell short. The organization also endorsed Wisotsky, who faced no general election opponent.
The council results maintain Democratic representation in Wards 2 and 4, while the school board race produced a much more competitive finish.
The results are based on Bergen County's unofficial November 3, 2026 election report, refreshed at 10:21 p.m., and include early voting, Election Day ballots and partial mail-in results.
