FAIR LAWN, N.J. — A Bergen County elementary school teacher’s car was struck by a paintball Tuesday afternoon while she was driving through Fair Lawn, sending paint splattering inside the vehicle, police said.

The teacher was driving south on River Road near Morlot Avenue at about 3:48 p.m., according to Fair Lawn Police Sgt. Eric Eleshewich. She was about a quarter-mile from Lyncrest Elementary School.

The teacher’s window was open when the paintball struck the vehicle, causing paint to splatter inside. She was not injured.

The incident occurred in the heart of the Shomrei Torah and Darchei Noam communities, an area with a large Orthodox Jewish population and many local families traveling through the neighborhood around the end of the school day.

Multiple police units responded to the incident.

No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Fair Lawn police are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
