TEANECK, N.J. — Chaverim of Bergen County held its Member Appreciation Dinner this week at Sheinkin, recognizing its volunteers and their wives and welcoming invited guests from Jewish community security organizations across the region.
Invited guests included Chaverim partners from Rockland, Brooklyn and Orange County, as well as Shomrim organizations from Queens, Manhattan, Rockaway, Nassau, Flatbush, Boro Park, Williamsburg, Crown Heights and Staten Island.
Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton also attended the dinner and addressed the gathering, offering words of appreciation for the volunteers and their service to the community.
The evening centered on Chaverim members who respond to calls throughout the day and night, often leaving their homes to assist community members at all hours and in all weather conditions. Their wives were also recognized for supporting their husbands’ volunteer service.
The dinner brought together volunteers from organizations serving Jewish communities across the region while giving Chaverim members an opportunity to spend an evening with their families, colleagues and counterparts from other communities.
Chaverim of Bergen County volunteers respond to calls for assistance throughout Bergen County and regularly work alongside local law enforcement and other emergency services.
