TENAFLY, N.J. – The Neil Klatskin Summer Camps at the JCC on the Palisades welcomed Bergen Hatzalah, the Teaneck Police Department and more than a dozen other first-responder agencies for a Touch-a-Truck and Heroes Parade day, giving campers an up-close look at the vehicles, equipment and people who respond when their communities need help.

Bergen Hatzalah and Teaneck Police were among the featured agencies at the event, where campers had the opportunity to explore emergency vehicles, learn about the work of local first responders and meet some of the men and women who serve their communities.

The event also brought together Bergen County Emergency Medical Services, Bergen County Office of Emergency Management, Bergen County Regional SWAT, Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, Englewood Fire Department, Englewood Hospital Emergency Medical Services, Fort Lee Police Department, Hackensack Meridian Emergency Medical Services, Tenafly Fire Department and Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance Corps, along with additional emergency response personnel and vehicles.

Campers had the chance to climb aboard emergency vehicles, see specialized equipment up close and ask questions about the different agencies and roles involved in responding to emergencies throughout Bergen County.

The Neil Klatskin Summer Camps thanked the participating agencies in posts online and through handwritten thank-you notes from campers expressing their appreciation to the first responders who serve and protect their communities.
