TEANECK, N.J. — Teaneck residents are being advised to keep their windows closed overnight as Bergen County prepares to conduct mosquito spraying in parts of the township early Friday morning.

According to a Wednesday report by Patch, the Bergen County Mosquito & Vector Control program will conduct an ultra-low volume (ULV) truck spray between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. Friday to help reduce adult mosquito populations.

Officials recommend residents close their windows before going to bed Thursday night while the spraying takes place.

The county said mosquito control treatments may be conducted throughout Bergen County through Oct. 31 as needed. Products that may be used include Duet, Fyfanon, Zenivex and ReMoa Tri, all approved for mosquito control and applied in low-volume quantities.

The spraying comes after recent stretches of hot, wet weather, conditions that create ideal breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
