FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Fair Lawn residents will get a chance to meet local police officers, enjoy family activities and learn about public safety during the borough’s annual National Night Out event next week.
The Fair Lawn Police Department and Fair Lawn Recreation will host National Night Out & Family Fun Night on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the main parking lot next to DeJong Field.
The free community event is aimed at strengthening relationships between residents and law enforcement while bringing families together for an evening of entertainment and community engagement.
The event will feature live music from The Kootz, food trucks, vendors, children’s activities, emergency services displays, free giveaways and information about crime prevention and public safety.
National Night Out is held nationwide each year as an opportunity for communities to connect with the officers and first responders who serve them.
The Fair Lawn event is expected to draw residents of all ages, with activities planned for children and opportunities for families to interact with police and emergency personnel in a relaxed setting.
Organizers said the event will be postponed in the event of bad weather. The rain date is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026.
Weather-related updates will be available by calling (201) 796-6746. Residents are asked not to call the Police Department for weather information.
The event is part of ongoing community outreach efforts by local law enforcement agencies across Bergen County, where police departments regularly host public events designed to build trust and improve communication between officers and residents.
