PARAMUS, NJ – A Newark man and Linden woman were arrested Tuesday after allegedly using a stolen identity to purchase nearly $2,900 worth of electronics at P.C. Richard & Son on Route 17 in Paramus.
Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said store employees recognized the pair from previous visits and contacted police on November 3.
Jerel Solomon Wilson, 35, of Newark and Kiesha Lee, 38, of Linden allegedly obtained a store credit account using stolen identification and purchased two Apple MacBook laptops and two Nintendo Switch gaming consoles valued at $2,876.71.
Responding officers intercepted the pair as they headed toward their vehicle.
Police said Lee was carrying a New Jersey driver's license featuring her photograph but the personal information of the credit account holder. Officers also recovered five additional cards bearing different names.
Both suspects were charged with identity theft-related offenses, credit card crimes, receiving stolen property and other offenses.
Wilson and Lee remained in the Bergen County Jail as of Wednesday, November 4, pending further court proceedings.
