TEANECK, N.J. — U.S. Rep. Josh Gottheimer visited Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck to tour its new intensive care unit and Graduate Medical Education Center, which was established with $3.8 million in federal funding he secured for the hospital.
The visit also included a discussion of Holy Name’s role in providing health care to the surrounding community and helping address New Jersey’s need for more physicians.
“Holy Name Medical Center is providing first-class care for our community,” Gottheimer said. “They are on the front lines, making sure hardworking Jersey families have access to the healthcare they need to stay healthy and get ahead. I’m grateful for the commitment of the top-notch doctors, nurses, and techs; and Iwill keep fighting in Congress to lower costs and expand access to care.”
Holy Name received the $3.8 million in federal funding in 2023 to launch its Graduate Medical Education program. The center officially opened in 2025 and welcomed its inaugural class of resident physicians.
The residency program is designed to train the next generation of doctors and strengthen the state’s health care workforce.
Holy Name is New Jersey’s only independent Catholic health system.
Gottheimer said he would continue working to lower health care costs and expand access to care.
