TEANECK, N.J. — Bergen County Shomrim says its Special Patrol team will once again be out across four Bergen County communities as Jewish families celebrate Shemini Atzeres and Simchas Torah.
According to Bergen County Shomrim, volunteers will patrol Teaneck, Bergenfield, Englewood and Tenafly throughout Yom Tov, providing what the group described as a visible safety presence.
Bergen County Shomrim said its volunteers have been patrolling local neighborhoods, shuls and community events throughout the Chaggim, including local Simchas Beis HaShoeiva celebrations.
The group said its teams will remain in communication with local law enforcement and community security teams throughout Yom Tov.
Bergen County Shomrim also said its volunteers will continue providing Safety Patrols, Community Response and Missing Persons services during the holiday.
The group said the patrols are intended to help keep the community safe as families gather for the final days of the Chaggim.
