TEANECK, N.J. — Teaneck police put their new all-terrain vehicle to work during this weekend’s Nor’easter, using it to help deal with flooded roads, fallen trees and other storm debris.

The department posted photos on Instagram Monday showing "members of Squad 2" using the newly issued Polaris vehicle during storm-related work throughout town.

Police said the vehicle proved useful as officers dealt with flooded roadways, fallen trees and other storm-related obstructions.

Officers were able to use the vehicle to safely reach areas affected by flooding. Its winch also allowed them to pull fallen trees and other debris that were blocking roads.

The department said the vehicle was a valuable resource during the storm because of its ability to reach areas that were difficult to access.
