FAIRFIELD, N.J. — A Teaneck man and a man who was previously arrested alongside him in a Bergen County stolen-property investigation are facing new charges after Fairfield police said they were caught shoplifting more than $1,200 worth of children’s toys from Target.
Ibrahim K. Mian of Teaneck and Rahmeir McBride of Rutherford were stopped by store security after allegedly pushing a cart of toys out of the Fairfield Target without paying on Aug. 21, police said. The merchandise was valued at $1,204.81.
Both men were charged with shoplifting and conspiracy to commit shoplifting. Mian was also charged with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.
The two were previously arrested together in November 2025 in connection with a car burglary investigation that began in Fort Lee. In that case, a victim used Apple’s Find My app to track a stolen iPhone and iPad, leading Edgewater police to a vehicle occupied by Mian, McBride and a third man.
All three were charged with receiving stolen property. Police said the investigation was continuing at the time as they worked to identify another victim connected to credit cards and identification recovered during the investigation.
In the Fairfield case, police allege McBride acted as an accomplice to Mian.
The Fairfield PD press release included the disclaimer that all charges are allegations, and both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
