PARAMUS, N.J. — Valley Home Care has earned Medicare's highest possible patient satisfaction rating, receiving an overall five-star designation based on feedback from patients receiving skilled home health services.
The rating is based on the latest Home Health Care Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HHCAHPS) surveys, which measure patients' experiences with Medicare-certified home health agencies. The results are published on Medicare's Home Health Compare website to help patients and families evaluate providers.
According to Valley Health System, patients awarded four- and five-star ratings across several key categories, resulting in the agency's overall five-star score.
Among the areas evaluated were the professionalism of the home health team, communication with patients, discussions about medications, pain management and safety, and patients' overall willingness to rate the agency a 9 or 10.
"The greatest compliment we can receive is the trust and confidence of our patients," said Toni Modak, vice president of Valley Home Care. "This achievement belongs to every member of our Valley Home Care team whose dedication, compassion, and commitment to excellence make a difference in the lives of our patients every day."
HHCAHPS surveys are a national standardized measurement used by Medicare to assess patient perspectives on the quality of care provided by home health agencies.
Valley Home Care provides skilled nursing and other home-based healthcare services to patients throughout northern New Jersey as part of the Valley Health System.
The five-star designation represents Medicare's highest patient experience rating and reflects consistently strong scores across multiple measures of patient care and communication.
