TEANECK, N.J. — Chaverim of Bergen County has expanded its capabilities with the addition of a new trailer designed to help volunteers respond to floods, severe storms, missing person searches and other large-scale incidents.

The volunteer organization announced the new trailer in a series of social media posts on July 27, calling it a "major milestone" for the organization and its mission to serve Bergen County residents.

According to Chaverim, the trailer is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and is designed to support a wide range of operations, including natural disasters, flooding, severe weather and other emergency incidents.

"This new resource brings critical equipment closer to where it's needed, ensuring our volunteers have immediate access to the tools required to respond quickly, efficiently, and effectively," the organization said.

Chaverim credited the project to the support of community donors, including a donation of the trailer itself from Teaneck Deputy Mayor Elie Katz.

"This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our supporters," the organization wrote. "We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Teaneck Deputy Mayor Elie Katz for his extraordinary donation of the trailer, as well as to our many generous donors who made it possible to outfit it with top-of-the-line equipment."

The nonprofit said the trailer will strengthen its ability to respond to incidents throughout Bergen County and provide volunteers with faster access to specialized equipment when large-scale events occur.

"We are incredibly proud of this advancement in our capabilities, but most importantly, we are grateful to you: our amazing community," Chaverim said. "Together, we're building a safer Bergen County."
