FORT LEE, N.J. — Two Bronx men have been indicted in connection with a brazen armed robbery at a Fort Lee gas station, but prosecutors say the investigation remains open as authorities search for additional suspects.

Juan A. Almonte, 26, and Julian Guzman, 22, were charged with armed robbery following a months-long investigation into the Jan. 10, 2025, holdup, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

The incident unfolded just after 4 a.m. when Fort Lee police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a gas station along Route 4.

Prosecutors said a masked suspect approached a victim, pointed a gun at him and demanded money and jewelry. The suspect also physically assaulted the victim before fleeing in a waiting vehicle.

Investigators later determined that additional masked suspects were inside a gray Acura TLX waiting during the robbery, authorities said.

A Bergen County grand jury indictment unsealed late last year charged Almonte and Guzman with multiple counts, including first-degree armed robbery, second-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a handgun.

Both men were extradited from New York and taken to the Bergen County Jail, prosecutors said.

Authorities have not announced arrests of the other individuals believed to be involved in the robbery. The investigation remains active, and prosecutors are asking anyone with information about the remaining suspects to contact the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Tips Line at (201) 226-5532.

The case is the latest in a series of high-profile criminal investigations handled by Bergen County law enforcement, as officials continue efforts to identify and prosecute suspects involved in violent crimes across the county.

Officials urged anyone with information — even small details that may help investigators — to come forward as the investigation continues.
